IPSantarém has several programmes in partnership with foreign institutions, such as the Erasmus Mundus Master in Emergency Nursing and Critical Care, the Master in Social Education and Community Intervention and the European Bachelor in Physical Activity and Lifestyle.
IPSantarém intensively promotes the exchange of teachers, students and researchers, within the framework of various international cooperation programmes, namely the Erasmus +. The IPSantarém welcomes a hundred Erasmus students a year.

In both cities it is possible to move by bike, a cheap and environmentally friendly transport.

The climate is predominantly mild and warm, with more than 2/3 of sunny days a year, providing great luminosity. It is a region with a very diverse range of bars and restaurants with excellent cuisine.
Physical activity and sports practice opportunities are diverse and creative. Rio Maior is known as the “City of Sport" and is where the School of Sport is located. The IPSantarém offers its students numerous opportunities for physical activity practice (fitness, football, tennis, swimming, volleyball, etc.), in its excellent facilities.
The Tagus River proximity also allows the practice of rowing, canoeing and sailing. Surf and kite surf can be practiced on the Atlantic west coast at Peniche (35 min. away) and Nazareth (45 min. away).
